We are now in the process of producing our very own Viner and Sons monthly podcast.
Recorded in house, by our own staff, we will be publishing a short monthly podcast with an aim to provide more transparency to us as a company, the profession and a vision to help break down the taboo surrounding the subject of death and dying.
Funerals are an area that very few people wish to talk about or even acknowledge, but it is the one, inevitable thing that we all have in common, so we want to try and soften the barrier between the mystery surrounding funerals, death, the funeral director and the public. We are just like anyone else, so through producing an audible podcast where you can become more familiar with us, we hope you will feel more at ease, and able to call in to see us when you are passing.
In our first episode we will tell you a little about our history and how we started. You will meet the team and find out what made each of us start in the profession, as well as what drives us to do the work we do. We will also explain what we can do to help you. We are not just here to arrange funeral services. We are more than that and can be a friendly face to talk to, or a welcoming ear to listen if you need to speak with someone, about anything!
In future episodes we will touch on other subjects, such as the impact of the recent Covid 19 epidemic and the families who have reached out to us for guidance. We will talk about grief and the way in which we can help you come to terms with the loss of a loved one, and we invite you to recommend any subjects you would like to know more about.
We will be inviting guests to join us and explain the role they play in the profession, and any new trends in the way funeral services are being held. New products and services that are becoming available and the huge variety of options that are available to help you create a fitting farewell.
It is important for us to be in constant touch with the community, and for you to see what’s going on at our premises, so we will also keep you updated on the refurbishment and gradual expansion of our offices here in West Malling.
Set to a background of calming music, we hope you can take 15 to 20 minutes out of your day to relax and listen in. We are finalising our first episode as we speak, which will be published very soon. A link to each episode will be published across all our social media pages and we welcome all feedback and suggestions. If you would like to take part or contribute one of our podcasts, please drop us a line as nathan@vinerandsons.co.uk
We hope you enjoy listening to us and look forward to hearing from you.

In this blog, we’ll provide a comprehensive guide on what steps to take when somebody dies, offering practical advice and support during this trying time.
We understand the importance of open and honest communication about end-of-life preferences. Whilst discussing final wishes can be a sensitive topic, it is a crucial conversation that can bring peace of mind and ensure that one's desires are honoured. In this post, we'll explore the art of broaching the subject of death with loved ones and offer guidance on how to make these conversations more comfortable and meaningful.
For the first time in 70 years, Queen Elizabeth 11 will not be bringing us a message of hope and good cheer on Christmas Day. That has been a tradition for many and I for one will miss it, and her. I’m sure King Charles will eloquently continue the custom, but somehow it just won’t be the same.
